Nephrops underwater TV Surveys - VHS and DVD footage

Underwater TV (UWTV) surveys are carried out in the Eastern Irish Sea and North Sea to record the occurrence of Nephrops (Nephropsnorvegicus) burrows. This information forms the basis of the Nephrops assessment to develop fishery independent indicators of stock size, exploitation status and catch advice. The standard methodology involves the use of a sledge mounted camera to film the seabed at a fixed set of stations conducting TV tows for 10 minutes.
