Walkers can enjoy them all, cyclists and horse riders can enjoy the Pennine Bridleway and the South Downs Way, as well as sections of the other Trails. In total, England and Wales have around 2,500 miles (4,000 Km) of National Trail. The England Coast Path will be the newest (and longest) National Trail when it is complete in 2020.

National Trails are one of Natural England’s (NE’s) flagship assets, delivering on our outcomes through recreational and volunteering opportunities that inspire people to value and conserve the natural environment. They provide low cost, low carbon leisure experiences either for part of a day, short break or longer off-road journeys through some of our finest landscapes.
