British Geological Survey (BGS) Geophysical Survey 1969/1: Deep Seismic: West of Scotland (12/Aug/1969 to 14 October 1969)

This marine multi-channel geophysical survey commissioned by the British Geological Survey (BGS), acquired and processed by Seismograph Service (England) Ltd took place 12th August to 2nd September and 21st September to 14th October 1969 West of Scotland aboard m.v. Ole Wirum. The main objective was to reveal the structure of the Mesozoic basins, information was incidentally acquired on tertiary dykes and Lave flows and on a submarine plutonic centre. Sub surface data were gathered using gas exploders, 1033km were covered by 17 lines. These data are archived by BGS. Technical details of the survey are contained in an Acquisition Report.
