Funded by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), Local Nature Recovery Strategies are a new national system of spatial strategies that establish priorities and map proposals for specific actions to drive nature’s recovery and provide wider environmental benefits, as set out by Government in the Environment Act (2021).\r

In accordance with the Act, each LNRS is designed to ensure locally targeted, more co-ordinated, practical, and focused action, and investment in nature.\r

The data below, in either Shapefile, Geopackage or TAB file format, includes:\r
•	Areas of Particular Importance for Biodiversity (APIBS), mapping areas of existing importance for Biodiversity across the county.\r
•	Mapped Measures to improve the biodiversity of Derbyshire, categorised into Habitats or Themes (Upland Moorland and Lowland Heath; Woodland and Trees; Rivers, river corridors and other watercourses; Farmland; Urban Environment and Infrastructure; Grassland; Wetlands; and Species).  These are combined into two separate layers, one for area data and one for point data.\r
•	Areas that Could Become of Importance (ACBs) resulting from an amalgamation of the mapped Measures areas excluding areas already of importance (the APIBs).  These areas could become of importance with implementation of the suggested biodiversity priorities and measures.\r
