Measurements were made under controlled laboratory conditions across gradients of soil moisture (0-100% water-filled pore space) and temperature (-6 to 20 °C). The resource comprises individual chamber-based H2 flux measurements together with associated environmental conditions, uncertainty estimates and soil physicochemical properties, including texture, pH, bulk density, soil particle density, soil organic carbon and dissolved organic carbon. The dataset supports analyses of controls on soil hydrogen uptake and development of atmospheric hydrogen cycling models.
